scottScott L. Robinson

Managing Partner

Scott Robinson has 15 years of real estate experience in credit rating analysis, real estate finance, capital markets and investment banking.

Prior to launching Cadence Capital Group in 2008, Mr. Robinson was a Vice President of Real Estate Investment Banking at Citigroup.  He was a key-member of the real estate finance team, focusing on the securitization and syndication of various secured and unsecured debt commitments ranging from $50 million to over $5 billion.  His notable transactions included Citigroup floating-rate securitizations, multiple public/private mergers such as Flagler development and American Financial Realty Trust, and numerous portfolio transactions.  He was also involved in the credit analysis and monitoring of unsecured corporate credit facilities.

Prior to joining Citigroup, Mr. Robinson was a senior analyst in the Real Estate Finance Group at Standard & Poor’s, where his credit evaluation and valuation responsibilities spanned both Real Estate Investment Trusts (REITs) and Commercial Mortgage-Backed Securities (CMBS).  Mr. Robinson’s clients included some of the largest rated-REITs and property developers including Simon Property Group, Vornado Realty Trust, Equity Residential, and Forest City Enterprises.

Mr. Robinson has also held positions at Macquarie Capital, an Australian-based investment bank, Advanced Real Estate Services, a California-based real estate investment and management company, and BRT, a New York-based mortgage REIT.

Mr. Robinson currently serves on the Board of Directors of Monmouth Real Estate Investment Trust (NASDQ: MNRTA) and RBW Capital Advisors, LLC, a New York-based long/short hedge fund and previously served as President of NYU’s Master of Science, Real Estate Alumni Association.  He is also an adjunct professor of Real Estate Capital Markets and co-Director of the REIT Center at New York University.

Mr. Robinson received a Bachelor of Science in Economics with a minor in Accounting from the University of California, Riverside, in 1992.  He earned a Master of Science in Real Estate Finance, with distinction, from New York University in 1999.

Mr. Robinson is a native of Southern California and has resided in New York City, for the past 12 years.  He’s an avid traveler, snowboarder and accomplished triathlete.

Robert MRobert J. Meulmeester

Partner, Advisory Services

Robert Meulmeester, a multilingual international real estate and management consulting executive with over twelve years of experience, is a Partner in Cadence Capital Advisory, where his primary focus is on providing strategic investment advisory on complex real estate transactions.

Prior to joining Cadence, Mr. Meulmeester has worked in advisory roles for Deloitte & Touche and Arthur Andersen in offices in Amsterdam, Brussels, and New York.  Most recently, Mr. Meulmeester was a senior manager in the real estate consulting practice with Deloitte Financial Advisory Services in New York where he focused on advisory to real estate investors ranging from formulating investment and divestment strategy recommendations to real estate valuation and feasibility studies.  The valuation studies were performed for management decision making, sale-leaseback structuring, financial reporting and tax reporting purposes.  In addition, he provided valuable guidance on loan underwriting and collateral valuation for mortgage investors.

Mr. Meulmeester also advised about corporate real estate rationalization strategies by aligning corporate strategy with corporate location including strategic worldwide site selections, location strategies, feasibility and benchmarking studies.

Mr. Meulmeester has significant experience in multifamily, industrial, office, hospitality and retail properties as well as vacant land and “green” sustainable properties located in different countries in Asia, the Americas, Europe and Africa.  His clients served throughout his tenure with Deloitte & Touche and Arthur Andersen and range from real estate owner-users, including government and non-governmental organization, and real estate investors throughout the world.

Mr. Meulmeester has a Master in Economics from the University of Amsterdam in the Netherlands with a specialization in International Business and Real Estate.  He has authored multiple articles on corporate real estate and real estate finance.  Mr. Meulmeester is also an adjunct professor of Real Estate Finance at the Schack Institute of Real Estate at New York University where he teaches real estate finance in both the graduate and non-degree programs.  He is an associate member of the Appraisal Institute, New York Chapter, a member of the Urban Land Institute, New York District Council, and a candidate for the Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors.

Stein Amundsen

Principal, Capital Advisory

Stein Amundsen has over 15 years of experience within the financial services industry, encompassing commercial real estate (banking, capital advisory, finance, principal investments and property management), international business development, investment management and debt capital markets.

Prior to joining Cadence Capital Group in 2010, Mr. Amundsen was a Co-founder and Principal of AG Global Investment Partners – a commercial real estate venture focused on developing international business opportunities and strategic alliances in emerging markets, namely China and Southeast Asia.  Previously, Mr. Amundsen was an Associate Director at The Ackman-Ziff Real Estate Group – a commercial real estate capital advisory firm.  During his tenure at Ackman-Ziff, Mr. Amundsen structured and underwrote in excess of $5.0 billion in debt and equity financing, of which over $1.3 billion was successfully executed.  His transactional experience included acquisition and development financing, as well as re-capitalizations for hospitality, multifamily, office, retail and mixed-use properties, in addition to vacant land.  He has represented some of the industry’s more prominent organizations, such as:  Advance Realty Group, LXR Luxury Resorts & Hotels (an affiliate of the Blackstone Group), Rockpoint Group, Thor Equities and Walton Street Capital.

During his earlier career, Mr. Amundsen worked in a variety of capacities within the fixed income arena at Bear, Stearns & Co. – a global investment banking and securities firm.  His experience included roles within the Financial Analytics and Structured Transactions (FAST) group, where he analyzed and reverse engineered over $25 billion in structured products, primarily collateralized debt obligations and subordinate re-securitizations.  Prior to the FAST group, he was an Associate within Bear Stearns Asset Management (BSAM), where he was a member of Bear Stearns Asset Backed Securities Partners – a hedge fund portfolio comprised of over $135 million in asset-backed securities.  Previously, he was responsible for the operational management of over $450 million in mortgage-backed securities and related derivative products for a separate BSAM hedge fund, Priton Capital.

Mr. Amundsen received a Bachelor of Science in Applied Mathematics from Union College, concentrating initially on civil and structural engineering.  He earned a Professional Certificate in Fixed Income Portfolio Management and a Master of Science in Real Estate Finance and Investment from New York University, where he was the recipient of the Dean’s Fellowship for Academic Excellence.
